Worked great on my daughter's natural hair

I've been keeping my 5 y.o. daughter's hair natural. I haven't used a flat iron or curling iron on her hair in years. I wanted to see how her hair would take to a hair dryer, but didn't want to without some protection. I love argan oil. It has always been a great oil for my and my children's hair. I usually don't put random products in our hair, but figured this was safe since it was argan oil. It's a white creamy product and has a great fresh smell to it, kind of floral. I had a time trying to figure out how to open it. I kept twisting the cap (like how you open lotion), but was doing it all wrong. I took a picture of the flap, you just flip it around to open and close it. I actually like that design, if you recall with regular lotion, you have to push the dispenser down and twist, so you usually have use the product to close it. I had just washed my daughter's hair, so it was wet when I sprayed it and brushed through it, then I used the hair dryer. As you can see from the pisc, my daughter's hair took to it pretty well! I was just missing some of the shine I'm used to with regular argan oil. But overall, I was satisfied with the results, I will continue to use this as heat protection for her hair.

Art Naturals Thermal Hair Protector 8.0 Oz

Any time I use a hot tool on my hair or someone else’s hair, I ALWAYS use a heat protectant. This step is crucial in the health of someone’s hair. I usually just purchase some of the ALTERNA sprays from Sephora, but they end up being pricey after a while for such a little amount. So, when I was presented with the opportunity to try the Art Naturals Thermal Spray, I was elated – mostly because I LOVE Art Naturals’ products. I have yet to be let down by this brand. I loved the fact that this heat protectant contains Argan oil, something that is so health for the hair, while also providing the user with intense smoothing and conditioning benefits.

How I use it:
After my washing process, I gently toss the hair around in a towel to get most of the water out. Then I spray a generous amount of the heat protectant and work it through the strands and focusing on the ends, making sure that all of the hair is sprayed. If styling myself, I like to let my hair air dry, but if styling someone else for an event I will blow dry their hair. After the hair is completely dry, I move onto the hot styling tools.

The first time I used it, I straightened my hair with my Instyler. Recently, this tool can make my hair look dull, despite their claims of producing frizz-free shine, so I usually just go back in afterwards and spray my hair with a shine spray to get the desired “glossy” look. However, when I used the AN Thermal Spray, there was plenty of shine (to my surprise) after straightening my hair.

The second time I used it, I curled my hair with a ¾” barrel wand. I immediately seen the difference in comparison to this spray and the others that I use. The curl immediately held a better form, and even over time it held a tighter bounce than it normally would.Read more ›

Purchase the whole line of products!

Where have these products been all my life?! Love them! I first used the shampoo which I let sit on my scalp while I took a shower. Normally my hair is very matted until I put conditioner on it. Not the case with this shampoo I could immediately tell it was soft. I then used the conditioner and let it sit for about 20 minutes. My hair was a different texture! Once I rinsed the conditioner out I used the thermal spray before I blow dried my hair. The product smells very nice and it was very easy to detangle my hair. I am in LOVE with these products. I am African American and have natural hair so I give all of the products 5 stars! I received this product at a discount for my honest unbiased review.

The verdict is in. This is amazing!

I am a type 4 natural with fine kinky,coily, curly hair. I wear a lot of protective styles but every now and again I want to wear it straight. This provided me with an excellent opportunity to test this product.

At first glance it comes in a fabulous bottle. Even with my carpal tunnel I had no problem spraying the product. The downside, I'm heavy handed when applying products so my hair came out a little greasy. With that being said don't be too liberal with the application and your results should be great, not greasy. The smell is heavenly. I found myself sniffing my hair because it smelled so good. I prepped my hair for the thermal protector by washing and deep conditioning my hair. The secret to a great flat iron job is to make sure that the hair is clean and properly moisturized. I then applied the Thermal Hair Protector while my hair was damp then proceeded to blow dry in sections. It felt a little coated but don't worry about this. It's a THERMAL PROTECTOR. With that said, the coated feeling will dissipate when you flat iron your hair. This was comparable to several I've tried (Giovanni, Loreal, , Mizani, Chi, etc) and in most instances it performed MUCH BETTER. After flat ironing, my hair felt smooth, super soft, and smelled fab. There's was no reversion until wash day. My coils were still in tact and healthy with no heat damage.

The only thing I'd change is that I'd use MUCH less since a little goes a looooooong way. This product was purchased at a discount in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
